The softball season is practicing after it just had tryouts on March 14-17 and softball is starting off with decent weather.

The softball team has had some changes this year. The varsity softball head coach is now Coach Tom Firman, who was the assistant coach last season. The assistant coach will be coach Dan Reschke, who was the JV head coach last year.

“I look toward to this season because it’s a different atmosphere than what I used to,” Reschke today.

Last season, the team went 21-15 overall. This season they are in hope for even better.

“I would like to help the team by going even further in the season than last year and each time get better from the previous day,” said coach Reschke.

Milford made it to the semi-finals at Districts last season but fell short to Hartland.

“I think we will go a long way this season and keep winning more and more games,” said Coach Firman.

The first game will be held on Tuesday, April 12.

“I expect great things and want to keep improving off of last season’s record and improvements and hope to keep getting better,”said Firman.

The team will be having some returning players including junior pitcher Natalie Herrington, junior catcher Audrey Petoskey and outfielder Gianna Seets, but lost a few players who graduated last year including Emily White and Aubrey Long. The team will try and make up for these big losses.

” I’m glad to be the assistant coach because it will allow me to give more of my time and effort to help everyone,”said Reschke.
