Milford High School finds itself in the middle of a widespread common cold outbreak, leaving students with sore throats, high temperatures, and awful runny noses. Over the past few weeks, an increase in cases has hit students across all grades, creating an unexpected challenge for both students and teachers. The common cold, notorious for its ease of spreading in crowded spaces, has proven it’s going to be yet another year circulating in the halls of Milford High. The students at Milford High School are lucky to have Chromebooks so they can catch up on missed days. But is it worth missing out on a teacher-led lecture in order to keep your condition from getting worse? The symptoms, ranging from runny noses and sore throats to exhaustion, are contributing to increased missed days and doctor’s notes, affecting both academic and extracurricular activities. In today’s world, most students fight these colds and continue to work through these tough times present in class. This could be due to many advanced classes where missing a day could mean being left behind, or upcoming tests that must be studied for. As winter approaches, concerns about the escalation of the spread grow. Despite the challenges posed by the common cold, Milford High School remains committed to providing a healthy and supportive learning environment. Teachers are adapting lesson plans to accommodate missing students. Google Classroom is a great tool for teachers to communicate and teach from classroom to home. Hope that this yearly cold goes away soon, Milford students will push past it and continue working hard.
