Many students hope to pursue a career in the medical field, due to the steady wage and having a job where helping people is necessary. Yet in this day and age, competition of other aspiring students is intense. This means future scholars are starting young to get  ahead start on all the other candidates.

       Most Medical schools have all students at least take Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics as well as Biology and Physics. Make sure that the current high school you attend provides these and get into them as soon as possible. This will expose you to many different types of sciences. There are also many jobs in the Medical field so knowing what kind of science you enjoy may be useful.           Getting involved in Internships and job shadowing is not only allowed but encouraged for high school students. Observing a the different jobs will help you get an understanding for what it entails. Even if you seem to find no internships or job shadowing is available, volunteering is always a strong idea. Most medical schools look at your past jobs and volunteering. The more you volunteer, the more you are better off. There are also many clubs or camps offered for high school students into medicine, be sure to check them out as it may help you in the long run.                       Obviously, doing well in school is a must for this field. Being highly intelligent and doing well in high school classes is very important. As well as taking regular classes also try to take up some advanced placement classes to really push you and your capability as a future medical field job holder. As well as regular classes, preparing for important tests is crucial as these scores will be looked at the rest of your life. Effort is everything. Students can not just say they want to work in the field and automatically get a  job, this is something you work for.
