Texas sweeps Nebraska to win a national title two years in a row

With a record-breaking 19,727 people in attendance for the National Championships on December 17th, Texas sweeps Nebraska in a shocking match as Asija O’Neal scores the winning point with an ace against Nebraska. Going into the match, Nebraska was heavily favored to win with an impressive freshmen class with Harper Murray, Bergen Reilly, and Laney Choboy who played together on the USA U18 team placing third overall globally. While Nebraska has such a young team, Texas was more than ready for this match as more than half of the team returned and eager for another title under their name. Although Texas had won the previous national title, their season record was 28-4 while Nebraska only had one loss all season, that is until faced with the National Championship. With the scores being 25-22, 25-14, and 25-11, Texas played a clean game with great serves with yet another record broken with a crazy 12 aces in a National Championship game and even winning on an ace. Texas now has a total of five national titles and plans on to hopefully gain a third as they approach the 2023-2024 volleyball season.
