Mr. Taboh graduated from Milford in 2003. Twelve years later, he is back to lead the school as an assistant principal.

Milford High School welcomed back Mr. Seth Taboh this year, a former student and teacher in the district, who will now take over a position as an assistant principal.

Taboh graduated from Milford High School in 2003. He formerly was the Dean of Students at White Lake Middle School, where he also taught math and social studies classes to start his career.

Taboh said he has felt welcomed and loves the atmosphere at Milford High School.

“It’s amazing just how much nicer you guys are,” said Taboh, During his time at Milford, a former assistant principal (Paul DeAngelis, now the Deputy Superintendent of Birmingham schools) wrote to Taboh in his yearbook, hoping that he would follow in his footsteps.

“I told the principals here that I was going to come back one day,” said Taboh.

He wants every student to know that he has walked the halls as a student, and that anybody can come talk to him about anything.

Taboh was on the wrestling team during his time at Milford and went on to college at the University of Michigan-Flint. After former Assistant Principal Michelle Kalhorn left to work at Walled Lake Central (her former high school), the return to Milford was inevitable for Taboh.

“I think he’s doing a great job,” said new Dean of Students Shawn Durso. “It’s obvious that he is committed to Milford High School.”

Taboh and Durso, among other members of the administrative team, have a goal to continue the procedures that keep Milford students safe and welcomed. They also are taking an increased focus to cyberbullying and cyber safety.

With an administrator in place like Mr. Taboh, who truly loves his job and knows what it is like for Milford students more than anybody, many feel the future of Milford High School is headed in the right direction.

“This is a dream come true,” said Taboh. “I truly love this place.”
