Feb. 14th – the day a man pushes the boundaries of his boyhood. The time to put your best clothes on, wear your best fragrance, and show off your greatest moves. The time to wink at the girl you think is cute in the hallway. The time to impress the woman of your dreams with a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s Valentine’s Day. But what matters most importantly, is the game you possess and how well you play it.

Yes, you grown ups are probably like.” what?”

 In short, it’s how you hit on a girl or guy. Guys and girls have a wide variety of game, and they all use it in different ways.

Teenagers are the prime example of a species trying to discover different ways of attracting the opposite sex. It is easy to agree that most of what teenagers do to attract the opposite sex is hilarious, anything from failing epically, resulting in a red face and sweaty armpits, to getting a cute little giggle from the person that gets your attention.

Some students take unusual tactics to draw attention from the opposite sex.

“ I spit mad game… I play hard to get,”  said Anthony Dawson, a senior at Milford High School.

This just shows the overconfidence that exists within the high school jungle.

Anthony Dawson has been in a relationship for five months, and knows at least a micro amount of information about women.

Dawson said that  both guys and girls need to be themselves around the opposite sex because that’s what you’re going to get in the end anyway.

. Dylan Bastyr, a senior at Milford High School, agrees, but said that there are limits.  “They better not pass gas,” he said. “That’s a complete turn off.”.

Guys are looking for ways to attract the opposite sex all the time. With high amounts of testosterone, and high attraction to any female that walks by, it’s hard for many guys to keep his mind off women.

These are the steps in getting a girl if you’re chilling at someone’s house or at the movies or something.

 First, make sure whoever you’re keeping an eye on gives you positive eye feedback.

Stare deep into his or her eyes with a bone chilling gaze. When you feel this person might be accepting, be friendly to them them.

Say “what sup? Or hey.”  Just a little indicator that you’re interested.

Start small talk conversations and be somewhat flirty, but not enough to sound desperate. Once you started somewhat of a conversation, talk to them about hanging out or going out on a date, which comes along with a phone number. If you’re chilling at someone’s house, inch closer and closer to the girl you’re talking to and see her reaction. And if the hook is set, make a move. If you get denied and the girl freaks, hey it’s okay. That’s probably going to happen nine out of ten times anyways. Play the odds, and be persistent.

Now a days, people think they should put on a show, but that’s going to end up biting them in the butt.

Teacher David Gilbert, a seasoned expert in relationships, has quite a bit of knowledge about love life.

He has been together with his wife for 7 years, and is happily married with a young child. Gilbert said there are many positives to being in a relationship.

“Being able to be with your best friend, and share life together,” he said. Gilbert’s tips on picking up girls include cheesy pick up lines, and great dance moves. Some cheesy pick up lines include: “What’s cooking good looking?, “Nice Jacket ;)” and “Do you have a band aid?, because I fell for you the instant I laid eyes on you.” These are just some prime examples, that many think won’t work, but actually do.

“Women like to see men put some effort in winning them over, and pick up lines take some guts to say to women,” explains Samantha Kutsoginis, a senior at Milford High. Gilbert also has a list of things to do to remind his wife how he loves her, which is a key tip in getting the girl of your dreams.

Love is a very broad topic, and is twisted and turned all around the emotional roller coaster of life. Many think they have experienced it, and others seek to reach the moment. Many believe it’s the ultimate goal of life.

“ Love is being able to share all of the ups and downs of life, and look at the other like there’s no one else in the room at the end of each day,”, expressed Gilbert.

Many students also see that loves develops from friendship.

“ Love is having a best friend that you can trust with anything,” explained Amanda Krieger, a senior at Milford High School.

According to student and faculty at Milford High, Love is the ultimate goal in each relationship and is sought by many. Just remember people, be yourselves, do the cheesy things that people think are stupid, show your passion, and do whatever it takes to get that hot hunk or girl of your atte ntion.
