Ten year olds take over Sephora beauty store

After the Holidays, a reoccurring issue that’s being brought up–especially on social media app TikTok– is the fact that the people going into beauty stores are getting younger and younger. These kids have been reportedly rude to customers, Sephora employees, and damaging to the store by destroying the displayed tester products. A TikToker shared her story of experiencing a kid ripping a Summer Fridays lip balm from her hands saying “It’s mine now,” she then proceeded to take the lip balm out of the packaging, use it, and then decided she didn’t want it so she threw it on the ground. The child then went on yelling at her father to buy her other products in the store. Other Tiktokers have also stated their stories, adding onto the chaos the young kids have created. Certain products these kids are purchasing are adult products that include retinol which is meant to help with anti-aging. Using adult products on developing skin can be damaging as their skin is more sensitive and pre-tweens are meant to stick to more simple skincare routines. Sephora employees as well as other customers have been complaining that there needs to be an age limit on certain products, and there should be an age limit to how old you can be to shop at Sephora at all to prevent the mess erupting in the stores, and the potential damage these pre-teens may be doing to their face.
