Milford’s winter drama to premiere in March

Sydney Rice, Staff Writer

A tradition. The winter drama occurs every year and is put on by Milford’s Theatre Program led by choir teacher Ms. Weeks. This winter, You Can’t Take it With You will hit the theatre as a comedy starring both female and male leads.

Unlike the other two productions that are in the fall and spring, the winter drama is a smaller production that includes around 30 people total. Stephanie Herman, starring as Penny, will act alongside Sierra Milbrath who plays Essie.

Miles Morris, sophomore, will star as Anthony Kirby in his fourth Milford production.

“I think the show will keep the audience cracking up,” Morris said, “it has a ton of funny situations and an entire cast of quirky characters.”

The cast prepares four times a week until the show premieres on March 3 and 4. They have rehearsals for 3 hours during each day after school.

However the cast is more than just a cast. This group of people spend 12 or more hours together each week, bonding and striving towards their show.

For Jonah Bellore, junior, this will be his eighth theatre production in his high school career as he plays the character Mr. DaPinna.

“It’s so amazing to spend these long hours with these wonderful people,” Bellore gushed, “We all work hard together to prepare for our show.”
