The movie, The Martian, was released on Oct. 2, 2015 and stars Matt Damon. This Movie is classified as science fiction and follows a man on his struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind during an emergency evacuation. Overall, This movie has a captivating and original plot with outstanding acting. Mark Watney is portrayed by Matt Damon as an astronaut who is accidentally left behind on Mars after being presumed dead. This movie is a lengthy 2 hours and 23 minutes and follows this man on his struggle to survive with limited supplies.

Regardless of the length, the movie is never dull due to the innovative and compelling story line. The Martian grossed over $614 worldwide. If that isn’t enough indication that this movie is worth watching, it was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, as well as winning the award for Best Motion Picture- Music or Comedy.

However, the movie doesn’t just focus on Mark Watney’s struggle to survive. The viewer also witnesses actions on Earth to attempt to keep him alive and bring him home. Overall, I would say this is one of the best movies I have seen. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys original plots and a captivating cast.
