The movie, Focus, follows the lives of a conman and his female apprentice as they scheme millions of dollars away from unsuspecting bystanders. The main lead is portrayed by Will Smith whose character, Nicky, was born and raised in the con business. The female, Margot Robbie, plays Jess, a woman who assists the main character in his heists.  This movie spans over several years and contains enough plot twists to keep the audience mesmerized throughout the entire movie.

This movie begins by following Jess as she tries to con Nicky in a random bar in Las Vegas. However, Nicky is a notorious conman who outsmarts her and catches her in the act. Following this, they begin a shaky love story as they go around scamming the city while making millions of dollars. Jess is then abruptly  left by Nicky and then the story cuts to 4 years later. The story then begins to focus on the character, Nicky, portrayed by Will Smith. He is now working as a con man in the race industry and all is well until an old friend stumbles back into his life which begins a whole lot of trouble.

In review, some of the scenarios did tend to come off as improbable and far-fetched. The reviews on this movie tend to be very mixed due to the unpredictability and rapid plot changes in this movie. I would recommend this movie to viewers who tend to get bored sitting for two hours to watch a movie considering the prompt plot changes and alteration of scenarios will definitely capture any viewer’s attention.

Yet, I would not recommend this movie to people who, like me, tend to spend time contemplating the reality of the plot due this movie’s impractical design.

That being said, I would say overall this movie is interesting and worth the watch.
