Recently 43 members of MHS vocal music attended Solo and Ensemble. Three students qualified for the state level competition.

Julia Schwendenmann, a Milford junior, earned a perfect score and will compete at States. Miles Morris, a Milford freshman, earned an excellent, one point away from superior and is considering going to states. Anna Lehrer, a Milford freshman; earned a 28, a high excellent. She does not plan on going to states due to a scheduling conflict.

¨I really enjoyed the experience,” said Morris. “The whole festival was well arranged and professional, I was pleasantly surprised with my score.¨

Eight students who competed earned excellent ratings as well as five competing groups, including the varsity choir group Choraleers.

Out of every solo who earned a higher rating, there were four seniors, three juniors, and seven freshmen.

Earlier this year, two students, Sophomore Hailey Eriksen and Senior Henri Varichon attended the MSVMA Honors Choir. Both students made it to the All-State choir and will be representing our school at the competition.

A special thank you to Mrs. Brenda Granroth for being a wonderful accompanist for the students competing and to the MHS vocal music program.
